Visitation

Visiting Hours and Procedures

You and your Legal Representative decide who is placed on the visitation list. Unless someone is on the list, we do not acknowledge that you are a patient, even via telephone. Visitors are expected to respect the confidentiality of patients they meet or see and abide by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.

Visitation for the unit occurs from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. Approval of visitation will be at the discretion of hospital leadership upon consideration of prevalence of COVID in the community and/or hospital. As we serve one of the most vulnerable populations, visitors will be screened upon admission and will have to adhere to current PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines.

  • Patients will be allowed two visitors at a time during visitation hours.

  • Visitors must be over the age of 18.

  • Visitation will be permitted for 15-minute increments at a time.

  • Visitation will need to be pre-scheduled with hospital social workers.

  • Visitation is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Visitor(s) must check in at the reception desk at the main entrance of the hospital.

  • Visitors must provide their full name and may be asked to provide identification and vaccination status.

  • Receptionist will inform visitor(s) that they must leave all belongings in their car. This includes cell phones, purses, bags and other similar items.

  • Receptionist will call the unit and inform them that the patient has visitor(s).

  • Unit staff will bring the patient into a visitation area where a staff member will accompany the visitors during their visit with the patient for safety purposes.

  • If visitors bring items for the patient during visitation, unit staff will bring all items to the nursing station to assess the items for any contraband or belongings that will be inventoried. Non-approved items will be sent back with the visitor(s).

  • Food may NOT be brought on the unit for patients unless prior approval is given by hospital management.

  • Clergy, Court Representatives, and Attorneys may visit at any time.

  • Upon end of visiting, visitor(s) will return to the reception desk to turn in visitor pass and sign out.
